InnovaXN second round projects selected

The Scientific Review Board has chosen 20 new projects for the second round the InnovaXN programme.

For the second call of the InnovaXN programme, the 20 newly approved projects cover a wide range of research fields. For example, energy production and storage, pharmaceutical and biotechnologies, catalysis and chemistry, and advanced materials. More precisely, they focus on industrial research, with supervisors from both industry and academia for each project.

In September 2021, 20 students will start their project. In addition, towards the end of the year, recruitment details for this second round will be posted.

Supported by the H2020 MSCA COFUND programme, the InnovaXN programme will allow a total of 40 PhD students to study a wide variety of subjects motivated by industrial challenges. Indeed, these projects will focus on exploiting the advanced characterisation techniques of the large-scale European facilities in Grenoble, the ESRF and ILL, over a five-year period.

The programme is co-directed by Dr Jean Susini (Director of Research, ESRF) and Prof Mark Johnson (Science Director, ILL).
